Did you know that an New York Times article from April of this year reported on research showing evidence of lowering your “LDL” cholesterol has no benefit?
I say “LDL” because LDL and HDL are not cholesterol. They are proteins, yet drug and insurance companies still refer to them as cholesterol.
The average American’s cholesterol is 50% lower today than it was over 50 years ago. Lowering cholesterol has had no benefit on reducing heart disease, heart attacks or strokes.
What’s sad and scary it that cholesterol lowering medications are prescribed in the millions every year.
Here’s the reality: cholesterol does not clog arteries. That was a theory that was never proven.
Cholesterol is essential for the function and structure of every cell in your body. It is one for the most important nutrients we need.
Lowering cholesterol has shown to cause many problems just as lowering fat intake. This advice has been a HUGE mistake.
Cholesterol is essential for your hormones, brain, and heart to function properly.
We will see (and really are already seeing) a spike in hormonal problems, cancers, brain diseases, and heart disease in the older populations because they have been told to lower fat and cholesterol for the last 50 years.
This breaks my heart to know so many lives are suffering over really bad advice that was pushed on us without research or evidence.
I watched my father suffer with heart disease and a stroke despite being on medications to lower his cholesterol, blood pressure, and thin his blood.
And after a heart attack or stroke the injured organs NEED more blood and fat to heal.
I highly recommend checking out The Paleo Cardiologist. There are cutting-edge doctors out that know real science and research. They promote high fat diets and not taking medications.
I wish my dad had this imformation. You deserve to have this knowledge so nothing bad happens to you.
What concerns me most about the NY Times article is the doctor quoted says “we did the right thing (in lowering LDL” and it didn’t work. Maybe lowering is not the ‘right’ thing.
Always here for you. Call, text, or email me if you need anything.
