The Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health – Chiropractic, recently published a case study of a newborn diagnosed with failure to thrive.
A 4-month-old female with a medical diagnosis of failure to thrive was evaluated in a chiropractic office. The infant was suffering from inconsolable crying, oral thrush, chronic diarrhea and was dangerously underweight. Chiropractic examination detected vertebral subluxations at C1-C4 and T3-T4.
The patient was treated with chiropractic adjustments for seven weeks. The FTT symptoms began to resolve after the first visit and completely resolved by the seventh week of care.
Unfortunately medical practicioners are not trained to spine and nervous system for vertebral subluxations.
Some studies suggest that 80% of newborns go undiagnosed resulting in unneeded medical treatments.
Its vital to have checked as soon as possible by a chiropractor to ensure optimal nervous system function.
