MyoVision

Track Your Spinal Health

MyoVision Scanning

At Epic Life Chiropractic, care is based on facts—not guesswork. One of the most important tools used in the office to help guide treatment and measure results is the MyoVision Scan. This technology allows Dr. Jeff Grosskopf to see what is happening beneath the surface by measuring how the muscles around the spine are working.

The MyoVision scan is completely safe, takes just a few minutes, and gives real-time insight into how the nervous system is responding to stress, injury, or misalignment. It is a simple yet powerful way to better understand a patient’s spinal health and track progress over time.

What Is MyoVision?

MyoVision is a surface electromyography (sEMG) scan that evaluates muscle activity along the spine. It works a lot like an EKG, but instead of checking heart patterns, it measures the tension in the muscles that support the spine. When there is a problem in the spine—like a misalignment or injury—the body often responds by tightening certain muscles to guard the area. This compensation can lead to pain, fatigue, and restricted movement.

The MyoVision scan picks up these patterns by placing small sensors along the skin. The scan is completely non-invasive and does not cause any discomfort, which makes it safe for everyone, including children, seniors, and pregnant women.

Why Muscle Activity Matters

When the spine is under stress, the muscles around it respond. Some may become overactive and tight, while others may shut down from fatigue. These imbalances are often tied to symptoms like neck pain, back pain, headaches, and reduced mobility.

MyoVision helps identify those imbalances. It shows which muscles are working too hard and which ones are not working enough. This information gives Dr. Jeff a clearer picture of what is going on in the nervous system and where care needs to be focused.

What the Scan Shows

The results from the scan are displayed using color and data. Green means normal activity. Red indicates high tension. Yellow shows fatigue or underactive muscles. The scan also measures the balance between the left and right sides of the spine and highlights any areas that are compensating for stress or misalignment.

The scan gives a number called the EP Stress Score. This is the total level of muscle activity along the spine. The first reading creates a baseline. From there, Dr. Jeff uses future scans to compare progress and adjust care if needed. If the EP Stress Score is high at the start, it often means the body is in an acute state. If it is low, that can point to chronic stress or muscle fatigue. Both are important and both can improve with the right care plan.

How It Helps Guide Care

The MyoVision scan does not replace X-rays, but it adds another layer of insight. It shows how the nervous system is reacting and gives clear, measurable data that supports decisions about treatment.

This is especially important when working with patients who have chronic pain or have been in accidents. The scan shows that there is a real issue present, even if symptoms seem mild or inconsistent. It also helps track improvement over time, which gives patients confidence that things are getting better.

DynaROM Scanning

For patients with soft tissue injuries or pain from movement, DynaROM may also be used. This test combines motion and muscle response. It measures how far a person can move and how the muscles react during those movements. Like the MyoVision scan, this data is used to support a diagnosis, guide care, and track recovery.

Real Information. Better Results.

At Epic Life Chiropractic, patients are never left wondering what is wrong or if care is working. The MyoVision scan helps provide clear answers, helps patients understand their condition, and keeps care focused on real results.

If you are dealing with pain, tightness, or a condition that is not improving, schedule a visit and get scanned. The MyoVision test can help show exactly where the problem is and how to fix it.
